This story was so horrifying, hopeful, and terrible that I do my absolute utmost to never think about it again. However, it is so well-written and such a “good” story that I consumed it ravenously and couldn’t put it down. I sobbed uncontrollably, my heart constricted with painful hope, and I felt utterly deflated by resignation at the end. Only read this if you like permanent trauma.
Note: I read this before I switched to audio books.
