Technique: Molded Decorations

The decorations are created using silicone molds of various shapes and sizes, usually seen on cakes. I use them instead in pottery.

Plumeria at Midnight
A medium-sized planter. This was mainly to experiment with Mayco’s “Stroke & Coat” glaze series that are advertised as not fading and not running – both things that happened. I’m not too happy with it. I think underglaze would be the best for detail work like this.

I got a lot of new molds for my birthday, so I just went crazy decorating planters! This is currently in the kiln for bisque. I should get it back on 7/19/25.
